Events for 2018

25 January 2018

Heywood will be speaking at the Institut National de l’Histoire de l’Art (Paris) as part of ‘La nuit des idées’ (Ideas Night), Paris, which for 2018 is on the theme of May ’68: Power to the Imagination.

10 April 2018

Heywood will be returning to Tours, to be reunited with Cécile Boulaire and the InTRu team, and she will deliver a seminar paper to the InTRu laboratory on the progress of the project.

4 May 2018

Heywood will be giving a talk entitled ‘Le ’68 des enfants : Livres pour enfants et contre-culture’ at the National Centre for Children’s Literature in France (La Joie par les livres, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Paris), as part of their public lectures programme.

2 May – 28 July 2018

Exhibition: Le ’68 des enfants’, a collaboration between Heywood, Cécile Vergez-Sans (University Aix-Marseille) and the Mediathèque Francoise Sagan (Paris).

The multi-talented Loïc Boyer (graphic designer, editor, scholar) will be taking us on an ‘hour of discovery’ through the avant-garde children’s books of Harlin Quist/ Ruy Vidal, based around the ’68 exhibition, and using archive materials from the Heure Joyeuse archive based at the Mediathèque Francoise Sagan (Paris).

As part of the exhibition, the Mediathèque Françoise Sagan/ National Centre for Children’s Literature in France (La Joie par les livres, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Paris) are co-organising with the ’68 project team and Cécile Vergez-Sans (University Aix-Marseille) a study day on the Children’s ’68.
